GRAM Spectrum Keyboard: Detailed Features

Like standard keyboards, the GRAM Spectrum comes with dedicated navigation, editing, and system keys. Some of these keys also have their own secondary functions for lighting modes, brightness levels, 6-key or N-key rollover, and gaming mode.

Removing the key caps reveals the Agile Slim switches with their clear housing and red border. A clear switch housing allows light to spread more evenly across the switch. We can also see the stem is the same as what is on a standard Cherry MX switch.

These low-profile red switches have a rated keystroke life cycle of 50 million clicks. They have a similar feel to the Cherry MX red switches due to their linear design. Because these are low-profile switches, the total travel distance is 3.5 mm, while the actuation distance is 1.5 mm. On standard Cherry MX red switches, these numbers are 4.0 mm for travel distance and 2.0 mm for actuation. This means these low-profile switches will register an action sooner than their Cherry counterpart.

There is a firm grip to the surface thanks to the four rubberized grips on the bottom of the keyboard.

Flipping out the two feet does give some extra height to the keyboard. The rubberized pads on the two feet allows for a better overall grip.

In the next section, we will take a look at the Tesoro GRAM gaming software to see its capabilities.
