ASUS TUF Sabertooth Gen3 R2.0 Motherboard Review

In 2004, nine years ago, PCI Express was introduced for systems with AMD processors. Since then, the then-new standard has established and is now everywhere in the 2.0 specification in use. Specification 3.0, which officially on Intel’s Ivy Bridge platform is used since last year, AMD users has so far been denied. Although AMD offers the HD 7000 series graphics cards that support the standard, motherboard compatibility, however, lacks appropriate.

ASUS sends the SABERTOOTH/GEN3 a R2.0 motherboard series of TUF (T he U ltimate F orce) into the race that provides the PCI Express 3.0 standard by a bridge chips, which of the PCI Express 2.0 lanes chipset in 3.0 lanes “converts”. Thus AM3 + benefit of PCI Express 3.0 for the first time users of AMD’s socket.
