ASUS ROG Spatha: Closer Look

The ROG Spatha comes with its own magnetic charging station. This charging station also doubles as the wireless receiver when the mouse is in wireless mode. It can be used upright as shown here, or can be used flat down on the surface without the metal legs attached. There is a pair button along with four rubberized feet on the back to prevent it from sliding on a smooth surface when used flat down. Thankfully, the charging station weighs more than the mouse. This keeps the charging station from sticking to the mouse when the user wants to take the mouse off of the charging station.

A small battery indicator LED is located at the bottom of the charging station. In wireless mode, the LED changes colors according to the battery level of the mouse. Green is for good, orange is for medium, and red is for low battery. When the mouse is charging on the charging station, the LED turns off.

The rubberized one meter micro-USB cable can be plugged directly behind the charging station and routed through the metal legs. The metal legs, like the charging pad, also has rubberized feet to prevent it from sliding around on a smooth surface.

The ROG Spatha attaches to the charging station with built-in magnets. When attached, the mouse will begin charging the battery.

The ROG Spatha weighs in at 175g, but the charging station is strong enough to keep it from tipping over. Even with some light force, the magnets that keep the mouse on the charging station should prevent the mouse from falling off.

Removing the top cover can be done by removing the four screws underneath the mouse. These screws surround the sensor and are hidden under some rubber covers. Using the included star-head screwdriver, remove the four screws to release the top cover.
