ZVOX Platinum Series SoundBase Home Speaker Systems Introduced

aptX Bluetooth Connectivity, AccuVoice Vocal Enhancement and Built-In Subwoofers Offer Audiophile Performance — Ideal For TVs Up To 80″ Wide

ZVOX, the company that pioneered both the sound bar and SoundBase® concept of home theater, today introduces the company’s new Platinum Series, offering theater-quality, 3-D sound with the simplicity of a pedestal design and single-wire connectivity. There are three new models included in the Platinum Series in 42″, 36″ and 30″ widths, accommodating up to 80″, 70″ and 60″ televisions respectively*. Each model is housed in a wood cabinet (MDF) and features up to three built-in powered subwoofers that operate in conjunction with ZVOX’s proprietary technologies including PhaseCue®virtual surround sound and AccuVoice® vocal enhancement technology.

“As TVs get larger, their stands are becoming wider, yet the majority of pedestal-style sound systems are designed for 40-inch TVs,” said Tom Hannaher, CEO of ZVOX Audio. “We designed the Platinum Series for people who want a full-blown home theater experience in a sleek form-factor without the wires and clutter of added speakers, yet might have 60-inch, 70-inch or even 80-inch wide TVs.”

Features:

Great Sound: All three ZVOX Platinum SoundBase systems use five high-quality, full-range speakers and built-in subwoofers which are housed in real wood (MDF) cabinets. Computer-controlled tonal balance delivers ultra-smooth midrange and remarkable bass (as low as 35 Hz). ZVOX’s proprietary PhaseCue virtual surround system creates room-filling three-dimensional sound — all from a single cabinet design with no external subwoofer needed.

High Performance Bluetooth Wireless Connectivity: The included BlueGiga Bluetooth® chipset supports the aptX® software codec and offers CD-quality sound, a reliable Bluetooth connection and better range than other products currently on the market. It also allows for superior audio quality by employing fully digital internal processing in the entire Platinum Series line. Users can stream high-fidelity sound from their phones, tablets or computers with solid connectivity up to 40 feet away to the ZVOX SoundBase.

Ultra-Clear Vocals: The Platinum Series employs ZVOX’s exclusive AccuVoice technology for the best possible voice reproduction. When users push the AccuVoice button on the remote control, they engage a digital process that mimics the functions of a hearing aid. The resulting improvement in the intelligibility of television dialogue is remarkable, and makes any one of these systems ideal for individuals with even minor hearing impairment.

Tames Loud Commercials: The Output Leveling (OL) feature of a Platinum Series SoundBase automatically reduces the sound on commercials that play louder than the TV program. By pushing the OL button on the remote, a sophisticated compression system takes over, making soft sounds louder and loud sounds softer so there are fewer jarring moments while enjoying TV programming.

Works With Your Remote: ZVOX SoundBase systems can be “taught” to respond to a SoundBase owner’s preferred TV or cable/satellite infrared (IR) remote control. The illuminated display on the front of the SoundBase offers simple step-by-step guidance during the teaching process. Virtually ANY TV/cable/satellite remote control can control volume, mute, and power functions of the ZVOX system.

Disappearing Display: Each Platinum Series SoundBase features a four-digit display located behind its front grille that shows the current setting for volume, bass, treble and PhaseCue virtual surround – and also shows the status of the Mute, Output Leveling (OL) or AccuVoice features. A few seconds after using the remote or front panel controls, the display disappears completely.

Multiple Inputs: Each model has two analog audio inputs, two optical (Toslink) digital inputs, one coaxial digital input – plus a front panel 3.5mm analog stereo input for convenient direct connection of an iPod® or other portable audio device. Each analog or digital input can be selected using either the remote control or slim-line module below the speaker grille.

Elegant Low-Profile Wood Cabinets. All models feature hand-built cabinets of medium density fiberboard (MDF) with stylish radiused corners. Each system uses a 3.5″ low-profile design that blends perfectly with today’s flat-panel TVs. Most people don’t even notice a SoundBase system — until they hear it.

Availability:  The three models in the Platinum Series announced today are slated to be available in the first week of October and will be available directly through zvoxaudio.com as well as through retailers including Magnolia Home Theater within select Best Buy stores. They can also be purchased at other brick-and-mortar retailers including PC Richard & Sons, Paul’s TV, Video Only, Karl’s TV, ListenUp, Bjorns, WorldWide Stereo and over 200 other locations. Additionally, ZVOX products are available online through select online partners including BestBuy, Amazon.com, Crutchfield, OneCall, Vanns, ListenUp and World Wide Stereo.
